Using Mimblet offline

Once the app is installed, all 20 books, 38 picture cards, four rhymes, and three sounds are available without Wi-Fi or mobile data. There is no content sign-in, cloud library, or runtime download to wait for.

The app-store installation and future app-version updates require the store's connection. This website also needs internet access; it is separate from the offline app.

If a bundled picture or sound does not appear, leave that activity and reopen it, then close and reopen Mimblet if needed. Check for an app-store update when you have a connection. Bundled content does not need a subscription or account.

Sounds and the stop timer

Nothing plays when I open the app

That's intentional. Open Little extras, choose a sound, and press Play. Selecting a sound while playback is paused does not start it. If sound is already playing, choosing another track switches playback to that track.

If you cannot hear it, check your device's media volume and connected headphones or Bluetooth speaker. Start at a low volume, and check the app's quieter, quiet, or soft volume setting. Try another bundled track or close and reopen the app if an audio error appears.

Sound stops when I leave Mimblet

Playback pauses when the app becomes inactive, including switching to another app or locking the device. Returning does not automatically resume it: press Play when you want it again. Sound can continue while you move between activities inside Mimblet.

How the timer works

Choose 5, 10, or 15 minutes under Stop after. The countdown starts when you choose it, not when you press Play, and continues even while playback is paused. At expiry it pauses playback. Choosing a new duration starts a new countdown; Clear cancels the timer without stopping the sound. Setting a timer does not start playback.

Keep sounds very quiet and the device outside your baby's reach and sleep space. These sounds are not a sleep treatment.

Reading and scrolling

Open Stories and choose a book. Use the previous and next page controls to move at your own pace. If the words or page controls are below the picture, scroll down inside the reader; larger text can make a page taller. Scroll through shelves and rhyme details to reach content below the first screen.

Use Settings to choose larger text or the softer night-reading palette. Picture cards advance at your pace, with no flashing, slideshow, or autoplay. You can stop at any time, or read and do finger plays without showing the screen.

Favorites, preferences, and reinstalling

Use an item's favorite control to save or remove it, and find saved items in Saved. Favorites and your chosen preferences stay on this device after closing and reopening the app. They do not sync through a Mimblet account or server, and are not a record of reading sessions.

Change reading preferences in Settings and sound volume in Little extras. If a favorite seems missing, check that it is still marked as saved and that you are on the same device and installation.

Uninstalling removes app-managed local preferences, subject to your operating system's backup and restore behavior. A device backup may restore them when you reinstall. Manage those backups in your operating-system settings; Mimblet has no backup service. Before reinstalling to troubleshoot, know that favorites and preferences may be lost.
